DAWUD ﷺ

The Story of Dawud ﷺ

Allah blessed Dawud ﷺ with strength, wisdom and a beautiful voice. He was chosen as a prophet and later became a king. Before this, Dawud ﷺ was a young man among the army of the Children of Israel. When they faced Jalut, a powerful enemy, many people were afraid. Dawud ﷺ stepped forward with courage and, by Allah's permission, defeated Jalut.

Dawud ﷺ understood that victory did not come from his own strength alone. It came from Allah. After this, Allah gave him kingship, wisdom and the ability to judge between people with justice.

Dawud ﷺ was also known for his worship and gratitude. He would remember Allah often, and the mountains and birds would glorify Allah along with him. Allah gave Dawud ﷺ the ability to make iron soft, and he used this blessing to make armour.

Although Dawud ﷺ was given great power and authority, he remained a servant of Allah. His strength did not make him forget his Lord. Instead, his blessings became a reason to worship Allah and show gratitude.

Allah says:

“O mountains, repeat the praises with him, and the birds as well.” (Quran 34:10)

The story of Dawud ﷺ teaches us that true strength comes with responsibility. Allah may give us abilities, opportunities or blessings, but these should bring us closer to Him rather than make us proud. We should use what Allah has given us to do what is right and remain grateful to Him.

Lessons from Dawud ﷺ
