MUSA ﷺ
The Story of Musa ﷺ
Allah chose Musa ﷺ as a prophet and sent him to Pharaoh, a powerful ruler who had oppressed the Children of Israel and claimed great authority. Musa ﷺ was given the mission of calling Pharaoh to worship Allah and to free the Children of Israel from oppression.
Musa ﷺ knew that Pharaoh was powerful and feared that he might reject his message or harm him. He therefore turned to Allah and asked Him to strengthen his heart, make his task easier and help him speak clearly. Allah reassured Musa ﷺ and told him not to be afraid, because He was with him.
Musa ﷺ and his brother Harun ﷺ went to Pharaoh and spoke to him about Allah. Pharaoh rejected their message and continued in his arrogance. Musa ﷺ remained courageous and continued carrying out the command Allah had given him.
Eventually, Allah commanded Musa ﷺ to lead the Children of Israel away from Pharaoh. When they reached the sea, they found themselves trapped between the sea in front of them and Pharaoh's army behind them. The people became afraid, but Musa ﷺ remained certain that Allah would help them. He said:
“No! Indeed, with me is my Lord; He will guide me.” (Quran 26:62)
Allah then commanded Musa ﷺ to strike the sea with his staff. The sea parted by Allah's permission, allowing Musa ﷺ and the believers to cross safely. Pharaoh and his army followed them, but they were overwhelmed by the sea.
The story of Musa ﷺ teaches us that courage does not mean never feeling afraid. True courage is choosing to trust Allah and do what is right even when we are afraid. When we feel that there is no way forward, Allah can open a way that we could never have imagined.
Allah says:
“And whoever relies upon Allah – then He is sufficient for him.” (Quran 65:3)
