PRAISE & REMEMBRANCE

La ilaha illAllah, wahdahu la sharika lahu, lahul-mulku wa lahul-hamdu, wa Huwa 'ala kulli shay'in Qadir

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Whoever says: 'There is no god but Allah, Alone, Who has no partner; to Him belongs dominion and to Him belongs praise, and He is Able to do all things' (La ilaha illallah, wahdahu la sharika lahu, lahul-mulku wa lahul-hamdu, wa Huwa 'ala kulli shay'in Qadir) one hundred times a day, will have a reward equal to freeing ten slaves, one hundred good deeds will be recorded for him, one hundred bad deeds will be erased from his record, and it will be a protection for him from Satan that day until evening; and no one will bring anything better than what he has brought, except one who has done more than that."

SubhanAllah - Alhumdulilah - La ilaha illAllah

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "The most beloved words to Allah are four: glory be to Allah (SubhanAllah), praise be to Allah (Alhamdulillah), there is no god but Allah (La ilaha illallah), and Allah is the greatest (Allahu Akbar). There is no harm in starting with any of them."

(Sahih Muslim)

SubhanAllahi wa bihamdihi SubhanAllahil Azeem

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "There are two statements that are light for the tongue to utter, heavy in the scales, and are dear to the Most Merciful: 'Glory be to Allah and His is the praise' (SubhanAllahi wa bihamdihi) and 'Glory be to Allah the Supreme' (SubhanAllahil Azeem)."

Subhanallah

The Messnger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'He should say: Glory be to Allah (Subhanallah) one hundred times. A thousand good deeds will be recorded for him, or a thousand sins will be erased from him.'"

(Sahih Muslim)

Subhan Allahi wa bihamdihi

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Whoever says, 'Glory be to Allah and His is the praise' (Subhan Allahi wa bihamdihi) one hundred times a day, will be forgiven all his sins even if they were as much as the foam of the sea."

(Sahih Al Bukhari)

SUPPLICATION

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, “Supplication is the essence of worship.” (At Tirmidhi)

Family

Rabbana hablana min azwaajina wa dhuriyyatina qurata A’yunin wajalna lil muttaqina imama

"Our Lord, grant us from among our wives and offspring comfort to our eyes and make us an example for the righteous."

Rabbir Hum Huma Kama Rabba Yaani Sagheera

"My Lord, have mercy upon them [my parents] as they brought me up [when I was] small."

Forgiveness

Allahumma innaka afuwwun tuhibbul afwa fa'fu anni/anna

Oh Allah, You are Forgiving and love forgiveness, so forgive me/us

Astaghfirullah wa atubu ilaih

I seek forgiveness to Allah and repent towards Him

Allahumma anta Rabbi, la ilaha illa Anta, khalaqtani wa ana 'abduka, wa ana 'ala 'ahdika wa wa'dika mastata'tu, a'udhu bika min sharri ma sana'tu, abu'u laka bini'matika 'alayya, wa abu'u laka bidhanbi, faghfir li, fa innahu la yaghfirudh-dhunuba illa Anta.

O Allah, You are my Lord. There is no deity worthy of worship except You. You created me and I am Your servant. I uphold Your covenant and promise to You as much as I am able. I seek refuge in You from the evil of what I have done. I acknowledge before You Your blessings upon me, and I acknowledge my sin. So forgive me, for surely no one can forgive sins except You.

(The Prophet ﷺ described the above dua as the master of seeking forgiveness.)

Gratitude

Allahuma a'inni ala dhikrika wa shukrika wa husni ibadatika

"Oh Allah, help me to remember You and thank You and help me worship You in the best manner."

Guidance

Ya muqalib al quloob thabit qalbi ala deenik

"Oh Turner of Hearts make my heart firm on Your religion."

Hardships

Rabbi inni lima anzalta ilaya min khayrin faqeer

"My Lord! Truly I am in absolute need of the good You send me."

Health

Allahumma inni as'aluka al afiyah

Oh Allah, I ask You for well-being (complete well-being and protection from all forms of harm)

Hereafter

Rabbana atina fid dunya hasanatan wa fil akhirati hasanatan waqina adhaban nar

"Our Lord! Grant us goodness in this world and goodness in the hereafter, and save us from the punishment of the fire."

Allahuma inni asaluka al Jannah

"Oh Allah! I ask you for Paradise."

Allahuma ajirni minan naar

"Oh Allah! Protect me from Hell fire."

Allahumma inni as’aluk ash-shahadah

"Oh Allah! I ask you for Matyrdom."

Allahuma inni as'aluka al husna al khatima

"Oh Allah! I ask you for a good ending."

Knowledge

Allahuma inni asaluka ilman nafiya wa rizqan tayiba wa amalan mutaqabalan

"Oh Allah! I ask You for beneficial knowledge, goodly provision and acceptable deeds."

Rabbi zidni ilma

"My Lord! Increase me in knowledge."

Protection

Laa ilaaha ill-Allaah ul-‘azeem al-haleem, laa ilaaha ill-Allaah Rabb il-‘arsh il’azeem, laa ilaaha ill-Allaah Rabb ul-samawaati wa rabb ul-ard wa rabb ul-‘arsh il-kareem

"There is no god but Allah, the Almighty, the Forbearing; there is no god but Allah, Lord of the Mighty Throne; there is no god but Allah, Lord of the heavens, Lord of the earth and Lord of the noble Throne."

Purity

Allahumma aati nafsee taqwaaha, wa zakkihaa anta khayru man zakkaaha, anta waliyyuhaa wa mawlaaha

"O Allah, grant my soul its taqwa and purify it, for You are the best of those who purify it. You are its Guardian and its Master."

Allahumma innee as’alukal-hudaa wat tuqaa wal- ‘afaafa wal-ghinaa

"O Allah, I ask You for guidance, piety, chastity and self-sufficiency."
